materials needed

process

  1. identify location/area suitable for dispersing woes.
    1. large, unoccupied space
    2. body of water perferable
    3. needs open sky access on at least (2) sides/160 degrees
  2. plot woe release path
    1. identify geographical features that will shape woe release
      1. open water, streams trails, ridhes, woodlines, etc
      2. consider conditions at sunset/twilight
    2. identify woe release site
    3. plan ingress and egress routes for participants
  3. designate woe tokens
    1. objects should be biodegradable and contain at least one (1) axis of true beauty
    2. each participant must contribute at least (1) token
  4. construct woe vessel
    1. must carry all woe tokens
    2. must carry tokens in temporary (not permanent) manner suited for determined method of release
    3. must be mostly biodegradable
    4. must use minimum 60% locally sourced materials, including (1) lovingly-selected non-functional, non-structural element
  5. gather wards
    1. wards are physically located items/processes that deflect and block untethered woes
    2. require motion/activity
      1. e.g. combustion, running water, wind power
    3. effectiveness scales with size and complexity
      1. i.e. if more complex wards are used, fewer are needed, but location and timing are more important
    4. wards can be activities performed by participants
  6. wards should be deployed during all phases of perparation, especially those involving the physical materials be used for the vessel or token, with increasing frequency leading up to actual release
  7. confer tokens
    1. participants will gather vessel and tokens in one warded location
    2. one at a time, each participant will intangibly transfer woes to vessel, while physically placing their chosen tokens onto vessel
      1. ideally, each participant uses a personal ward while doing so
    3. after all woes/tokens are placed, vessel is to remain in place, undisturbed until it is ready to proceed directly to the dispersal step (no more than 24 hours)
  8. sail the vessel
    1. active warding before, during, and after sailing is required
    2. sailing must take place during sunset, twilight, rain, fog, eclipse, fireworks, or wildfire
    3. deploy layers of warding with respect to previously determined ingress and egress routes
    4. move vessel to sailing site with care, respect, and reflection
    5. sail vessel
  9. strike
    1. gather all participants at staging site and implement additional warding
    2. participants shall spend time together enjoying woe-free existence
    3. do not return to sailing site for minimum 24 hours
